Elon Musk is a co-founder and leader of several groundbreaking companies. He is the co-founder and CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and The Boring Company.
As CEO of Tesla since its inception in 2003, Elon oversees all aspects of the company’s electric vehicle, battery, and solar energy product design, engineering, and global manufacturing. Tesla’s primary mission is to accelerate the global shift towards sustainable energy.
The company introduced its first product, the Roadster sports car, in 2008, followed by the Model S sedan in 2012 and the Model X SUV in 2015. Notably, the Model S received Consumer Reports’ Best Overall Car and the Ultimate Car of the Year by Motor Trend.
Tesla expanded its offerings in 2017 with the Model 3, a mass-market electric vehicle, and unveiled the Tesla Semi, a fuel-efficient commercial truck. At SpaceX, Elon Musk serves as the lead designer, guiding the development of rockets and spacecraft for missions to Earth orbit and other celestial bodies. SpaceX achieved historical milestones, including the first privately developed liquid fuel rocket to reach orbit (Falcon 1 in 2008) and the re-flight of a Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft in 2017.
The Falcon Heavy, the world’s most powerful operational rocket, made its debut in 2018. SpaceX is working on Starship, a fully reusable transportation system, and Starlink, a network providing high-speed broadband in underserved areas. The company aims to establish a self-sustaining city on Mars.
Elon also serves as the CEO of Neuralink, which is developing advanced brain-machine interfaces to connect the human brain with computers.
